As you know, during the month of October we solicited parishioners' input on possible names for our united parish. Now on the websites, and linked to this email, is information on each of the names that were submitted and approved.
Please consider what has been submitted and prayerfully consider the three you would like the Cardinal and the Presbyteral Council to consider.
Then select your preferences, listed in order, by the end of November. You can do this by completing the survey link at the bottom of this email.
I will tally the results and report back to you, and will send the information in for approval. There is a Presbyteral Council meeting in January, and I expect that our official name will be decided at that meeting.
This naming process can, I know, re-open old wounds related to the pain of being joined together after having existed for so long independently. We are not alone in going through this, and I expect it will take time coming to terms with an enhanced identity as our united parish territory is now double the size of what the individual parishes used to be.
