Congratulations to our school community at St. Gabriel for an outstanding report from the "5 Essentials Survey" done through the University of Chicago (selected by the Archdiocese of Chicago as a School Assessment Tool), where their research over years has shown that schools that were Strong, Very Strong on 3 of the 5 areas evaluated were 10 times more likely to improve student learning gains in math and reading than those schools that were classified as "Weak" in 3 or more of the 5 areas evaluated. St. Gabriel was Very Strong/Strong in 3/5 areas and Neutral in 2.
Some of our areas of strength:
We were "Very Strong" in Math Instruction, Student Peer Relationships, Teacher-Parent Trust, Inquiry-Based Science Instruction, Program Coherence, No Classroom Disruptions, Parent-Involvement, Peer Support for Academic Work, Classroom Rigor, Rigorous Study Habits, Quality Professional Development, Teacher Safety, and Quality of Student Discussion. We were also "Strong" in many areas including English Instruction.
St. Gabriel is classified as a "Well-Organized" School for learning. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible, including our Lord Jesus most of all. Blessings to you all as I finish my last day here at St. Gabriel School. I will keep you all in my prayers. Best wishes for a happy and healthy successful year in 2020-21.
